After our slumber party with Wendi, we had another slow morning on Connie's patio dishing business followed by a leisurely brunch at the Sunset Tower Hotel, a Hollywood art deco landmark built in 1929 and featured in many movies throughout the years.  The bar is intimate and the pool has a gorgeous view. Interesting tip, no photos allowed!  This hotel is as well known at the Hollywood sign but likes its celebrity guests to have their privacy. Oh well, none of us are celebrities so we took a photo before being told NO.  We all know I don't always follow the rules, so I didn't delete our photo from my cell phone!

Dinner with two couples- Debbie and Dave and Maryann and Charlie, dear long time friends of Connie topped off our evening!

DAY 5

Thought my time in LA had ended, but thanks to Chicago weather,  Connie and I had an extra snow day in LA to play! Blow dry appointments for our hair in the morning... I could get used to this luxury twice a week.  No more wasting time in the morning drying may hair when I need to be out the door in 10 minutes flat! Then an afternoon of design shopping for clients on La Cienega, Robertson and  Melrose at showrooms and stores that we don't have in Chicago. I found some wonderful accessories at Kelly Wearstler's  new boutique and at Hollyhock, Suzanne Rheinstein's boutique as well as lamps and chandeliers at Mecox Gardens (and yes, I do frequent our Mecox). Dinner at Connie's - soup and salad- and a quiet night of watching the Olympics (the ice dancing gold medalists...mesmerizing) and my trip was over. Back on a plane. Delightful... inspiring... and a much-needed long weekend trip! Thank you Connie!
