Musings

Friday began with a lovely relaxing morning on Connie's patio with her darling dogs and friend Brandt then sandal shopping at Village Footwear on Larchmont where I bought out the store... five pairs from Germany and France- brands such as Beautifeel, Vidorreta Jory and Gabor- all new to me but very current yet comfortable. Good looking walking sandals are a must to keep us on schedule!

Lunch at the famous Cecconi's near the LA Design Center with another designer friend from our Design Trust, Mark Cutler and our breakfast buddy Brandt Hooker. We or should I say Mark, scored the corner table. After eating the "lunch platter" special, drinking a few cocktails and Mark to entertain us, we were off to an afternoon of shopping on Robertson and Melrose. I found a black and white houndstoothesque winter coat on sale at Rebecca Taylor.  At 75 and sunny in LA there is no need for a winter coat but back in Chicago absolutely. Wish Rebecca Taylor would consider Chicago for a bespoke boutique...

Home to relax  for a few hours and then onto Valentine's dinner at the home of Connie's friend Anne in Hancock Park. Wearing something red was mandatory... believe it or not with two kids at Indiana University, all I own that is red is an IU baseball cap! I wear it walk and it was not appropriate for the soiree so had to borrow a red pashmina from Connie. Wow, seven dynamic women! Amazing discussions with wide ranging topics from aging parents to Russian ballet and a successful stem cell transplant for Connie's dog Clemmie to Lisa Shield, the LA transformational dating and relationship coach.
