When is Brass Not So Brassy?

Today’s hottest metal is brass, but not the super-shiny brass that was the star of the 80’s. This time around the gold-colored metal is more understated and luxurious in a satin finish that is halfway between brushed and polished. We think it’s beautiful, but we’re still recommending restraint when adding it to your home. It’s more like jewelry than a complete ensemble!

Dress your doors and drawers with satin brass. A little brass can add soft warmth and contemporary glamour.  We prefer simple designs such as these knobs, pulls and levers. Try hinges, too!

Stunning forlighting, satin brass fixtures are dramatic accents, and the soft finish pairswell with other metals. Try pairing it with polished nickel for a contemporarymix.
