Oh, What a Night!

The 2017 Lake Forest Showhouse kicked off in glittering style on Friday night with a preview party that featured cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, music and a house full of beautiful rooms to explore. What’s not to like? We were thrilled to share the moment with friends and family – it was a full house, as always for this popular event! Our master bedroom, below, was truly a labor of love. We wanted it to be a safe haven from a chaotic world, a place where one can dream and find peace and inspiration.

We custom-designed many of the pieces, including the winged bed, the glass and acrylic table, the pair of grey chairs with pearl-trimmed backs and the rugs. The antique Asian chair, below, which we lacquered in canary yellow, was a huge hit! And notice the “drippy” painting by Chicagoan Sally Ko on the wall behind it. That is just one of many pieces of art I commissioned for this room.

For hefty contrast in a room full of soft pieces, we chose this dramatic console table from Kelly Wearstler, below. I love the blend of sharp edges and alternating curvy arches.
