Exciting news! Lake Forest Showhouse Invite

Mark you calendars now and come see us in the 2015 Lake Forest Showhouse opening April 25 and running through May 17. Sweet Peas Design has been selected for the second time in a row to participate in this prestigious event sponsored by the Lake Forest Chapter of the Infant Welfare Association.

The IWS has secured the estate of the late screenwriter, director and producer John W. Hughes, Jr., located in the historic district of east Lake Forest.Hughes is famous for directing or scripting some of the most successful and enjoyable films of the 1980s and 90s, including National Lampoon's Vacation, Ferris Beuller's Day Office, The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles and the Home Alone series. I loved Home Alone!  

Hughes' former home features the exquisite detail of architect Edwin Hill Clark, designer of the Lake Forest Library, Lincoln Park and Brookfield Zoos and many prominent Lake Forest Homes.

There will be so much to see! The estate includes 7 bedrooms, 6 full bathrooms, library, dining and living rooms, garden room, spacious family room, media room, office suite and three-car garage. There are six fireplaces, a swimming pool, bluestone terraces and professionally landscaped grounds.

We are thrilled to be chosen to design the "Lady's Retreat," which we tweaked and is now the "Fashion Blogger's Retreat" – the custom-designed headquarters of a nationally known fashion blogger. Interior and fashion design in one room equals: Fun!

Of course, we're incorporating our signature LivableLuxe style for a retreat that's relaxed and elegant, comfortable and refined, just like your favorite little black dress.
